Ikkei established SARR. LLC –Science, ART & Research for Reconstruction, in April 2011, after the Earthquake and Tsunami 3.11. Out of SARR activities, he is also co-founder of Soramitsu, one of the leading blockchain company in the world and creates Hyperledger Iroha.
Ikkei established Hokkaido VC in 2000, the first regional and independent VC in Japan. Since then, he has been involved in more than 50 start-ups, and is considered as one of the pioneers in incubation of university spin-offs.
Ikkei supports Technology Commercialization Program of NEDO, the Japan’s largest funding organization, also runs startup accelerator “kizki” at Kyoto and is a member of National Research and Development Agency Council of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology（MEXT）. He is also a Visiting Professor at Kobe University.
